Sengoku Samurai

Sengoku Samurai is a strategy and combat game with massive battles set in the Japanese Sengoku period. It features a great number of iconic characters from Japanese mythology throughout the ages.

The game puts you in the shoes of a daimyo (a feudal sovereign) that has to work with and fight against rival groups, which are controlled by real players. In the city you can move freely to chat with merchants or take on missions. Meanwhile the combat is fought automatically, and you only need to choose the initial formations and decide when to launch your troop's special abilities.

The troops, like in other games, take the form of cards which can be unlocked and leveled up by completing missions. Your army can have hundreds of units, and proper positioning on the battlefield to take advantage of their strengths at just the right moment is key to achieving victory.
